The Research Flow Cytometry Facility is a shared resource laboratory serving the Cincinnati Children's research communities and surrounding institutions by providing a central location for flow cytometry instrumentation, training and education. We offer a number of services for both internal and external scientists.

The Research Flow Cytometry Facility at Cincinnati Children’s operates six cell sorters for the simultaneous purification of up to six populations to be used for downstream applications.

The Research Flow Cytometry Facility at Cincinnati Children's maintains ten analytical cytometers for measuring fluorescence in cellular applications including immunofluorescence, cell cycle analysis, proliferation and phospho-flow. We demonstrate the utility of five fluorescent proteins with optimal characteristics for multicolor experiments, three of which can be easily used simultaneously (GFP or Venus, mTagBFP2 and either mIFP or TagRFP657). They can be individually detected even at low levels and present little spectral overlap when used together.
