Community Climate System Model (CCSM)
The Community Climate System Model (CCSM) is a coupled climate model for simulating the earth's climate system. Composed of four separate models simultaneously simulating the earth's atmosphere, ocean, land surface and sea-ice, and one central coupler component, the CCSM allows researchers to conduct fundamental research into the earth's past ...
CCSM Overview - University Corporation for Atmospheric Research
CCSM consists of five geophysical models: atmosphere (atm), sea-ice (ice), land (lnd), ocean (ocn), and land-ice (glc), plus a coupler (cpl) that coordinates the models and passes information between them. Each model may have "active," "data," "dead," or "stub" component version allowing for a variety of "plug and play" combinations.
Grids - cesm.ucar.edu
A new feature in CCSM4 allows the atmosphere and land grids to be unique. One example in the CCSM4 scripts is the ne30np4_1.9x2.5_gx1v6 (ne30_f19_g16) grid. This grid configuration consists of the ne30np4 homme grid for the atmosphere, the "2 degree" grid for the land, and the "1 degree" grid for the ocean/ice.
2.3 Global Grid and Grid Decomposition - University Corporation …
CSIM uses a generalized orthogonal B-grid, where tracer quantities are located at the center of the grid cells, and velocities are located at the corners. The internal ice stress tensor takes four different values within a grid cell.
Frequently Asked Questions | Community Earth System Model
The CCSM3 ocean and ice models share the identical horizontal grid, two of which are presently officially supported in CCSM: gx1v3 and gx3v5. In both of these grids, the north pole has been displaced into Greenland.
The Community Climate System Model Version 3 (CCSM3)
2006年6月1日 · This paper will show results from the configuration used for climate-change simulations with a T85 grid for the atmosphere and land and a grid with approximately 1° resolution for the ocean and sea ice. The new system incorporates several significant improvements in the physical parameterizations.

2021年8月6日 · Fully-coupled, non-accelerated atmosphere-ocean-sea ice-land surface simulation at the T31_gx3 resolution. The simulation starts at 22,000 years before present (22 ka) and finishes in 1990 CE. CCSM3 TraCE simulation with transient orbital forcing only, all other forcings and boundary conditions remain at the full TraCE state of 22ka.

2024年9月30日 · Each ARTMIP method/algorithm (named by developer) submits a catalogue comprised of 0's (no AR exists) or 1's (yes AR exists) for each time slice, for each grid point, using a curated set of output from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 5 and 6 multimodel ensembles (see Table 1).
