Cercopithecoidea is a superfamily of primates. Members of this family are called cercopithecoids, or Old World monkeys, and include baboons, colobuses, guenons, lutungs, macaques, and other types of monkeys.

Many cer­co­p­ithe­cids have is­chial cal­losi­ties, brightly col­ored patches of skin on their rumps. These are used in dom­i­nance and sex­ual dis­plays. The fa­cial mus­cles or cer­co­p­ithe­cids are well de­vel­oped, and fa­cial ex­pres­sions play an im­por­tant role in so­cial be­hav­ior.

Cercopithecoides is an extinct genus of colobine monkey from Africa which lived during the latest Miocene to the Pleistocene period. There are several recognized species, [2] with the smallest close in size to some of the larger extant colobines, and males of the largest species weighed over 50 kilograms (110 lb).

The first lower premolar (P 3) is highly specialized in all the genera of superfamily Cercopithecoidea; it commonly has two roots, the anterior of which is considerably shorter mesiodistally than the distal one.
