Case 1845C chain case and oil. - Heavy Equipment Forums
2010年3月27日 · I bought a 1999 Case 1845C late last year. Finally got around to checking the chain case oil. The chain case oil on the left (when facing the front of the machine) was to the top of the chain and was milky white and thick. The case on the right was okay. I am in the process of draining the oil and trying to clean out the remains of the white oil.

2013年11月27日 · Update to post for people searching. In my bobcat I put all new chains from dealer, all new wheel bearings and gear reduction box bearings and I used 10w40 motor oil in chain case as per manual. In hydro system I use aw32 or aw46 as per dealer recommendation. Nothing special about the oil, just plain old $20 a case motor oil.
Type of oil in the chain case of 1845C - Heavy Equipment Forums
2009年12月28日 · I have 90w gear oil in mine. Hope that is not a problem. I guess this is another reason I need a manual. I actually had to change the oil in mine last year due to water in the chain boxes. I was told it should be gear oil and that is what I put in it. Now I wish I could remember who told me this. Has not created a problem.
Chain Case oil - WHY motor oil?? - Heavy Equipment Forums
2013年11月30日 · I seem to see that a lot of SS manufacturers spec Motor Oil like 10-30 or 15-40 in the chain case. That seems like the WRONG choice! Motor oil used in an engine is formulated for a hot environment that is a lot different than what goes on inside the chain case. Plus the motor oil would have High Detergent in it that would keep all dirt in ...

2012年3月23日 · You fill the chain cases (again, this is different from the gear boxes) from the oil level plugs located low on the chain box covers between the tires on the outside of the skid loader. These plugs require a 3/8" square drive for removal. My Mechanic says it only takes 4 quarts of gear oil per side, book says 1.8 gal/ side.
Case 1840 oil in chain drive - Heavy Equipment Forums
2020年2月18日 · The procedure for my Cat 242B and New Holland LS160 is to fill the drive chain case with oil to the bottom of the threads on the fill port. My manual for the LS160 said 6.8 L per case (1.8 gal) ... it actually took about 11 L per case (about the same volume that I drained) which is about 60% more than the book value.

2021年11月30日 · The CAT recommended chain case maintenance interval is a change every 1000 hours. When I did mine last year the old oil looked pretty clean, which makes sense since it is a closed system. The problem with switching away from your rated oil to something different is the difficulty in removing all the old oil.
Chain Case Oil, same hyraulic fluid as system? Really or overkill?
2011年1月19日 · Just overhauled both chain cases on my Mustang 960 and am ready to fill with new oil. However, the specs specify to use the same high-dollar hydraulic fluid as in the hydraulic system. I'm sure the other machines are similar to the Mustang in that chain cases are totally independent of each other and the system.
Chaincase oil change on bobcat 763 | Heavy Equipment Forums
2011年10月17日 · I am the owner of a bobcat 753 - the chain case drain is a removeable plug at the front end of the machine - just behind the bucket on the main frame. In researching mine I got advices any oil would do - put simply it has to lubricate the chain drives.

2009年7月9日 · If I remember correctly about 1/2" to 1" deflection. There should be 4 bolts holding the motor, loosen then slightly then use the adjuster bolt to move the motor back (tighten) the chain. No need for the oil to be that high in the cases. We put 2 jugs of oil in each side, only because they are 3.78 litre jugs.
