One of the best Chartres outdoor labyrinths is in the gardens of the Shepherds Dene, Corbridge, Northumbria. Jim does labyrinth retreats here a couple of times a year. Turf labyrinth Northumbria Community retreat centre and mother house, Acton, Northumberland. A temporary labyrinth in the back yard, made from sawdust.

Click below to open a printable labyrinth that you can print and trace with pen or pencil. This is a fresh version of an oft used paper finger labyrinth. It is a seven circuit Chartres style labyrinth, and includes some basic instructions. While the copy of the labyrinth itself is a little grainy, I like that it is not a stark heavy black.
The most famous medieval style labyrinth pattern. Installed in Chartres Cathedral, France, ca. 1201CE.

Labyrinth walking requires no special skill or knowledge. Follow the path to the center at your natural pace. When you are ready, take the same path back out.

This is a finger labyrinth patterned after the walking labyrinth in the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France. A finger labyrinth is “walked” by tracing the path with a finger of the non-dominant hand.
