Glad I did, because I was planning on having multiple ground points to the chassis, but not it seems like just 1 chassis ground to the house negative bus bar is ideal (using a 4/0 cable). If you're using a non-isolated supply then again, the case should be grounded because a fault in the power supply could result in the case being energized at line voltage.
