Usually the frame would break before the gun blew apart -- but the guy fails to understand that structural failure in steel can develop over the course of several stressors.

Any thought's on installing a 1873 barrel anyone. If doable, I want to make it able to shoot .45 bullits. Jacketed and harder lead bullits. Have reamed the cylinder to .452.

2018年3月25日 · I've been using Crisco lard exclusively in my C&B revolvers (a Ruger ROA & a couple of repro 1860's) for over 30 years, and wouldn't change a thing. As stated above, just seat the ball & spread the Crisco into the chamber with a popsicle stick until the chamber mouth is filled flush with the face of the cylinder.

2003年11月14日 · I back up Ribbonstone's comment. I just checked with my 2003 Standard Catalog of Firearms. All the 600 series revolvers made by H&R were of a 6-shot design only. They were offered in .22 lr and .22WMR. The 900 series of revolvers (hence your 949) were of a 9-shot cylinder design and offered in .22lr (+ long & short) only.

Of you choices I'd strongly advise the 44 contender, great gun. Yep, you can easily change to another cartridge for about $200, new barrel at gun shows.

2018年10月21日 · The internet is loaded with complaints, but Ruger sells a lot of revolvers, and not everyone is unhappy. And, Ruger by most accounts, is pretty good at patching up any real issues. Having handled and shot a few different SA's from different sources, Ruger probably makes the most durable revolver per dollar.
