It will not be cheap to own a used V12 car whether it's for regular maintenance or god forbid repairs. I think you should try looking at a V8 or an inline-6. They're not as smooth as a V12 but still very smooth. Used Lexus LS or some Volvo or BMW that's reliable enough.

2023年9月27日 · The car may be cheap and have some small issues, but you‘re still looking at a 80000€ luxury car from close to 30 years ago. Suspension and every single bushing is shot. The paint looks horrendous and let‘s not talk about the car sitting outside in the sun for the past 10 years. And God knows why it was abandonned in the first place.

2021年3月23日 · Cheap to fix? No, none of them are cheap to fix. Again, you could argue the Jaguar V12 is somewhat inexpensive to keep running—they're not really all that complicated in the grand scheme of things and some of the ancillary parts like the ignition module and air conditioning compressor are off-the-shelf GM parts—but they can be very finicky.

A V8 is much more practical than the V12, the V8 AMG version better still. The less you spend up front, the more you will pay for repairs. My advice, get a nice E-Class if you want a 4 door. If you are single, get a 2 door like a SL, depending on your budget. But, for the love of god, a V12 as a first car makes zero sense.

The R129 is a great chassis and the M120 is a very cool motor but does epitomize the “usually expensive” fixes. These had the biodegradable wiring harness so electrical gremlins might be tough to track down.

2021年11月30日 · That will give you a much easier, better set up platform for a rwd V10/12. I'd recommend a truck V10 as they seem most available. A Ford truck triton V10 can be had in fullsize pickups as well as some buses. A dodge ram V10 can be had in full size trucks as well. You're v12 options are really limited to Jags or a Toyota. Edit: bmw v12 as well

2024年6月24日 · Thank you for being the only person in this entire thread to give actual examples of actual issues the motors and S600 specific stuff has, most the people here give the most useless info "its an old german v12" like that tells me 0 I didnt know and heck the BMW 750iLs are famous with their V12 for being more dependable them the M62s in the 740s.
