The powerglide transmission has a single band. It is used to hold the clutch drum during low gear operation. If the powerglide band is not adjusted properly the following things can occur:

2021年8月31日 · I have had an innovative wide band on my Chevelle for a couple of years now. I switched out my 540 for a 467 and went back to my 770 SA carb. Car was running pretty good but wide band showed low 13's and sometimes high 12's at cruise (2300-2900 RPM). I was running 70 primary jets in it, which I thought should be on the lean side.

2023年1月13日 · My cars always ran and sounded better when I would use pipe sealer, with a overlapping stainless band clamps. Then to finish it all off, run a stainless zip screw though the band clamp and both overlapping pipes. This keeps it from moving and braking the sealed joint.. I was amazed at the "off idle" performance gain I got on my stock 1978 454.
