2025年1月4日 · Hope its not sacrilegious to you all posting about a chevy restoration. I kind of figured I payed my dues being a member since 2011, also thought you might enjoy the journey with me. Well so far I changed fluids in the rear diff, oil, coolant by removing the block plugs and flushing along with the radiator. added new coolant, thermostat and plugs.

2012年4月7日 · I'm Chevy powered and proud . If you're serious about the swap you'll need the Chevy frame mounts (the holes are already in the frame crossmember) and a Chevy type trans. Despite the anamosity you'll hear about the swap it's relatively easy as the A body GTO is just a better looking Chevelle under the skin.

2015年10月23日 · Welcome to the GTO forum ! "... I want to drop a 454..." I certainly hope that is a typo, and you mean 455 Pontiac. I'm strictly old school Pontiac, and partial the the '69 Goats. I think it's a downright shame to put a Chevy engine of any kind into a '69 GTO ! ! ! You can make all the torque you want with a Pontiac engine.

2015年10月20日 · I built a 389 in high school. Currently building a Chevy 350. The Pontiac block you need 3 men and a mule to move. The Chevy block I can throw in the trunk of my civic SI. That said I have a sort of stock 389 in my 64 Gto. It growls and snarls like a beast but for power to weight, cheap parts and massive adaptation to any car the Chevy rules.

Yeah, a Chevy 350 is a 4.00 bore and 3.48 stroke, while the Pontiac 350 was a 3.88 bore and 3.75 stroke. So the Chevy was more of a revver, but I guess the Pontiac was better for torque? The Chevy 327 had the same bore but an even shorter stroke, so would it have been a better engine to hop up than the 350?
