Athena Chu (born Chu Yan; 25 October 1971) [1] is a Hong Kong actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Zixia Fairy in A Chinese Odyssey (1995). On 25 October 1971, Chu was born in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Her father was a mathematics teacher who later started a business with her mother. [1]

Athena Chu is a Hongkongese actress. She grew up in Kwai Chung, New Territories. In 1984, she graduated from the Catholic Ming Tak School, and for high school, she attended Lutheran Middle School, Tsuen Wan, on Castle Peak Road, Hong Kong. In 1992, she graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a major in acting.
