2004年1月5日 · A final note: After I bought my tub, I saw that Matkins (the frame people) we advertising a heavier aluminum tub that was supposedly pre drilled (and cheaper!). I would have seriously considered that, though why you would need anything heavier duty than the JP tub is beyond me--it is a very tough unit. Good luck, Rich

2013年2月16日 · After hearing of problems with the cj8 tubs, I decided to find a original tub and replace the floors and roll bar mounts.. Welded patches in two spots (before all this I had the tub acid dipped to expose all these problems). What I'm getting at is I've spent about $4500.00 and I'm in the final primer stage before painting.

2012年2月7日 · My CJ8 needs a cab floor for sure, how much of the YJ could I use? I know a CJ8 is a CJ7 with an added 10" and some people tell me the CJ7 tub is the same as a YJ. Some tell me there are differences like a couple of frame mounts. A CJ8 cab floor is $450, I can buy the YJ tub for $400 or less.

2011年2月24日 · I have spent a lot of time looking at Aqualu's products. Paticularly their quad cab tub. Looks like it would be a good base to start from, then modify to my specs. I think a stretched CJ8 from them would be better due to their quad version has regular door configurations. My design has slightly smaller, more utility rear doors.

2011年6月6日 · If you try to cut and weld in your own metal section then you will have to figure out how to fabricate rails of the tub that the hard stop sits on. Best bet is to find another YJ tub, do the stretch, and then maybe purchase some corner armor to strengthen the cutting/welding you did and give it a sharp look as well.

2020年8月6日 · I undid the body mounts and all plumbing and wiring; jacked up the front of the tub and slid a 4"x4" timber under it; set it down; jacked up the back and slid a 4"x4" timber under it; then set sawhorses under the timbers and did a jack-block-jack-block routine until I could roll the chassis out from under it.

2010年8月6日 · I attached an image for my fj40 lift. You can see the bar across the tailgate opening. The real old fj40's had door opening more like a cj5 and much more solid then the larger door opening on cj7's 8 and newer fj40's. Better to support it then have issues later. I got away with it on my cj8 but I would 100% weld support braces on next time.

2004年9月17日 · I need the measurement from the top rear of the door opening to the rear of the tub. I'm going to stretch my tub out close to scrambler dimensions so it'd be easier to get a top. The frame will be stretched too... with a final wheelbase around 110" or so. Thanks, Andy
