On January 1st, CJCH-TV began broadcasting on channel 5, with a schedule that boasted 45 % live production. Owned by a group of Nova Scotians headed by Finlay Macdonald who would be later named to the Canadian Senate. The CHUM Group of Toronto purchased CJCH Radio.
