The SŽ series 363 is a class of 3 kV DC electric locomotives operated by Slovenian Railways (Slovene: Slovenske železnice, SŽ). They were built in 1975-1977 by the French manufacturer Alsthom. They have a typically Alsthom C′C′ wheel arrangement with monomotor bogies.

363 035 runs light engine through Pragersko, 24/08/10 (JW) Breaking with the tradition of procuring off-the-shelf (or nearest offer) Italian locomotives to work under the 3,000 V d.c. wires, JŽ looked around and settled on a variant of the French Alsthom Co-Co class CC6500 electrics, which at the time were settling in very well on the SNCF.

The classes are numbered according to the locomotive classification of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, which had been adopted by Deutsche Bahn in 1994. Since 2007, classifications for all German railway companies are centrally issued by the Federal Railway Office in line with UIC classification rules.

The class 363 is the most numerous class of multi system loco across Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Previously designated the ES 499.1, it was ordered in the late 70s, as the pace of electrification across Czechoslovakia picked up rapidly.
