The development of the EMU`s class 471 started in 1 992 under the lead of the Moravskoslezska vagonka Studenka (MSV Studenka) and the company AEG. The first traction car of class 471 was completed in 1997, but the first complete unit was handed over to Czech Railways in 2000. A total of 83 EMU`s will be delivered, the last in 2013.
