The world's first pashmina goat clone was produced at Centre of Animal Biotechnology at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST), Jammu and Kashmir, India. It was named Noori, an Arabic word referring to light.
