2024年7月16日 · On September 23, 2022, Governor Newsom signed SB 972 that modified the California Retail Food Code (CRFC) and established a new retail food facility known as Compact Mobile Food Operation (CMFO). The new law became effective on January 1, 2023. CMFOs may conduct limited food preparation in accordance with CRFC.

What is a Compact Mobile Food Operation (CMFO)? A CMFO is a mobile food facility in which an individual operates from a pushcart, stand, display, pedal-driven cart, wagon, showcase, rack, or other nonmotorized unenclosed conveyance that can be approved to sell prepackaged food or unpackaged food with limited food preparation.
