Number 406 was built in December 1949 as C&NW F7 4086A (c/n 8576) on EMD Order E1188, renumbered in 1971 to 406 (3rd), retired by the C&NW December 31, 1977, sold to the RTA and leased back. It was assigned RTA number 300, but that number was never applied.
