David Leonard took this transparency of Chicago & North Western unit 4324 at South Pekin, Illinois, on March 28, 1976. Delivered by EMD in 1955 as GP-9 1716, it was rebuilt into a GP-9R by the C&NW's former CGW Oelwein Shops in 1972-73 emerging with a new number, a chopped hood, and other modifications.
