2012年4月30日 · The best solution I've found is what most commercial sites use, All connectors are type N or 7/16 DIN that have proper sealing built into the design. All connectors have adhesive lined heat shrink used over the coax and the connector body. Once the connectors are mated, a pass of electrical tape is added, either adhesive down or adhesive up.
Sealing coax connectors. | RadioReference.com Forums
2020年11月22日 · Am connecting a coax male BNC connector to the bottom of the magnetic loop box which is a W6LVP Magnetic Loop. Do I start winding the electrical tape immediately from the BNC connector and move on down the coax for about 3 inches or so OR, start winding the electrical tape from the bottom of coax and on up to the BNC connector? Any help ...
coax connectors: soldered vs. crimped? - RadioReference.com …
2013年2月27日 · While the coax is soldered to the connector, the connector mating for the center conductor uses pressure to make contact, especially in the UHF type connectors that most hams use. I remember working in video in my earlier years, we had some monitors that used the UHF type connectors for baseband video.
Coax Connector Sealing Options - RadioReference.com Forums
2019年12月11日 · I would rather put up with Coax Seal that have to mess with that wrapped around my connectors. I have two discone antennas with N connections and a Wellbrook loop with a BNC connector to waterproof. I saw a YouTube video where a guy wrapped Scotch Super 33+ and Scotch Super 88 I think around the connectors on his discone but the mounting pipe ...
Using F-Connectors with 50 Ohm RG8 - RadioReference.com Forums
2024年1月19日 · I know CATV coax (typical RG6/x) is 75ohm, but I will be using 50ohm RG8/x. Only the connectors for the Thru-Wall Setup would be the CATV type. Knowing that every "connector/adaptor/jumper" inserted in a TX/RX line acts as a BalUn to some degree, I am curious as to what effects using F-Connectors would have in 50ohm TX/RX performance.
Losses in Coax Fittings? - RadioReference.com Forums
2012年2月16日 · Does anyone have an idea of how signal power losses in coaxial fittings vary with signal frequency? I know coaxial cable attenuation is frequency-dependent, but what about their end fittings, and connectors? Are the losses fairly constant (regardless of signal frequency), or are they as...
Coax connector/adapter vs custom coax potential signal losses?
2023年10月13日 · - standardized antenna coax to only LRM-400/50 ohm including (now shorter) in-house ~10 foot length jumpers; - utilized N grounded female bulkhead connectors at the PVC window pass through board; - DECREASED antenna coax run to window panel to 50 feet; INCREASED length of antenna grounding wires to basement AC panel.
What wattage soldering iron for PL-259 connectors?
2022年4月20日 · The connectors will sweep fine past 6GHz when complete and a child can install perfect connectors every time. These connectors run about $14 each on Amazon but can be found cheap, sometimes in bulk surplus for $6 each on eBay. I also find them cheap at ham swapmeets and at the last one I got a bag of 22 new EZ connectors for LMR240 for $2 each.
F Type Coax Connectors...My Fat Fingers - RadioReference.com …
2020年6月6日 · It's a struggle to get my fat finger and thumb in there to disconnect and connect the coax cable. Is there a F type coax extension/adapter connector? Something I can install on the SW Ext Ant connection that would bring it out an additional inch or two? Making it easier to connect the coax. I'm thinking this might be what I'm looking for.
SMA - soldering to coax with stranded center
2024年10月3日 · If you are going to be doing this more than a few times, get the right crimpers and connectors. Soldering coax takes some skill, but you can get connectors that have a crimp-on center pin. The crimpers don't have to be expensive. It's pretty easy to practice with some scrap coax and a few extra connectors and get pretty good at this quickly.
