2023年3月23日 · The barrel is a USGI NOS Colt "c MP" marked pencil barrel 1:12. All upper & lower parts are Colt marked with a Colt 20 rd. magazine. Furniture is all NOS USGI. The buttstock on the 603 is the "improved" version with the trap door in the butt for the cleaning kit. The lower is a Nodak Spud 603 Retro lower.

2013年2月9日 · I'm somewhat confused as to what shade finish was applied to U.S. Property marked 603/M16A1 rifles manufactured 1968-1969. My understanding was that it was 'Colt' or 'XM' grey, but the images and accompanying descriptions in the "Colt's USGI M16 series variation guide edition IV" seem to indicate something much darker.

2017年12月21日 · Colt developed the Model 603 for the Army as a redesign. It featured the forward assist and the modern (captive) front pivot pin. This was the purpose of the upper boss surface (partial fence) on the right side of the receiver. Later this surface was expanded into a magazine release button guard (full fence).

2010年1月27日 · The Colt Model 603 / M16A1 pic shows a forge code " C H" but the description says there is no forge code. Which is correct ? I appreciate all the help you guys give. I am trying to decide between the 602, 603, and 604 as a retro build when I get back to work.

2025年2月20日 · One is a USAF 654 GAU-5/P like I carried in the late 70s. It has a current Colt CR6920 "Carbine" marked lower, 4 position Colt tube, and Fiberite stock. The upper is a slick side [adit: Fulton] to color match the 6920 lower. The barrel is a H&R 14.7" chrome lined 1/7" pencil barrel with a A2 style brake to be Commie fornia compliant.

ETA: This was all built when old parts were cheap. 6520 complete upper with Colt C cut BCG, CH $175. 604 stripped upper $90 Ebay. Colt 603 upper $130 of EE. Eventually sold that 604 upper to fund another project, more than tripled my profit.

2020年6月27日 · Well, Apex was selling Colt 603 uppers a while back for $950. I kind of think that’s a little pricey but that’s just me. A 603 should have a 1/12 twist barrel. The 1/14 twist barrels are from every early M16 uppers, it seems like they only lasted about a year or two before they switched to the 1/12 barrels.
