2022年11月22日 · 5. CAR-15 Model 610 I feel like the Model 610 is the ODB of Colt CAR-15 rifles. ODB from the Wu-Tang clan famously has 12 nicknames, with my favorite being Knifey McStab. Besides being commonly referred to as the CAR-15, it also gained the 610 monikers on top of the Colt Commando, the XM177, and the GAU-5/A.

The Colt Automatic Rifle-15 or CAR-15 is a family of M16 rifle –based firearms marketed by Colt in the 1960s and early 1970s. However, the term "CAR-15" is most commonly associated with the Colt Commando (AKA: XM177); these select-fire carbines have ultrashort 10.5-inch (270 mm) and 11.5-inch (290 mm) barrels with over-sized flash suppressors.

In April 1967, the Army purchased 510 Colt 629 Commandos for use with by troops assigned to the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG), and designated them XM177E2.
