Essentially, these are A1’s with A2 furniture, compensators, and full shelf lowers and retain full auto capabilities. Later in production these guns would use “C7” uppers which were A1 spec but with an A2 style brass deflector forged into the receiver.

2017年10月19日 · I've been researching the possibility of building a Colt Model 711. I have an A1 with a 1/7 twist pencil barrel that would be proper to get the ball rolling. Add a A2 stock, A2 pistol grip, A2 round handguards, peel washer and A2 flash hider and it looks like I'm in business.

2024年8月29日 · It's not exact, but close. What I realized once it was built though is that it's pretty much a Colt 711 clone! The 711 was an export version of the M16A2. Colt being Colt, they used up what parts they had, and often had some unusual variations. The 711 used an A2 lower with either an A1 or C7 upper.

2017年11月12日 · I know this is not a 600 Series retro rifle, but kinda close and really easy to build. I had two A1 clones that were pretty close to original, but one had a 1/7 twist pencil barrel I wanted for the heavier 62gr M855 bullets. Then watching posts here and seeing pictures of a modified 711 that got the ball rolling and researching this rifle.
