The XM177 was the Colt Model 610, which came out way before the Colt 723 in 1966 along with the Colt 609 (AKA the XM177E1). 2021年1月8日 · I built my clone Colt 723 based off these three brochures from Colt. Not sure of date of print, but I'm guessing they're early 723 due to A1 upper, pencil barrels and looks like large button FA. Great thread! I'm an A1 baby from late 70's to early 80's on active duty to 727's /M4 for 18 years in Reserves.

2015年7月13日 · Finally finding time to post pictures of my newly arrived Colt Model 723 clone that J.T. at Retro Arms Works completed the work on earlier last week. Even though this model is considered an A2, it reminds me more of a Model 653 with just a few A2 parts on it.

2023年10月3日 · The 723, broadly speaking, had 3 major incarnations. The first, as described above, used A1 upper with a 1:7 pencil 14.5” barrel, the next was the same same except it had a C7 upper (A2 with Field Sights in Colt literature of the time), and the final used the heavier barrel with grenade ring (similar to but not the same as the later M-4 barrel).

2018年6月3日 · Having said that though, though there are not any hard and fast rules to Colt 723/733 rules, I think if you took a "survey" of Colt 723s in service / delivered in say, 1987, they would fall into the A1 upper / .625 barrel category, and another in 1993, the majority would fall into the A2 FS ("C7")/ M4 barrel category.
