WHITE-RUMPED SHAMA (Copsychus malabaricus) – (See images below) DESCRIPTION: The male White-rumped Shama has a black plumage with a dark orange breast. The rump is white as well as some feathers in the tail, which have a graduated length. Females have grey-brown tops.

White-rumped Shamas are found from s. India (including Sri Lanka) and sw. China to SE Asia and w. Indonesia, and they have been introduced only to the Southeastern Hawaiian Islands around the world (Long 1981, Lever 1987, Ali and Ripley 1997, AOU 1998, Roberts et al. 1998).
