Advice on buying a Conn 10m RTH | CafeSaxophone Forum
2018年1月31日 · Oddly enough, a decent modern sax will be as good as a Conn 10M, but just different sonically. For example, I'm very fond of my purple label Yamaha YTS-32. Going in the opposite direction, you'll pay less for a Conn New Wonder Series II tenor (dating from 1925 through to 1928-ish) but the ergonomics are much less friendly than a Conn 10M.
Saxophones - Anyone recommend a Conn 10m? - CafeSaxophone …
2020年11月26日 · Conn 10M/6Ms tend to get a bit of a bad rep for regulation problems due to the completely useless point screw system. The screws themselves are fine, excellent even - proper points, constantly adjustable - but the fly in the ointment is the poxy grub lockscrew that holds the point screw in place.
Conn 10M V 16M - CafeSaxophone Forum
2013年7月17日 · @ Conn 10M/16M players/repairers Any thoughts on the 1950s 16M Since the production didn't move to Mexico till 1960 any thoughts on these possibly often unfairly maligned Conns. I have heard that the pre- Nogales Shooting Star 16M tenor has the same body as the more favoured 10M.
Saxophones 1952 Conn 10M with straight tone holes
2011年4月13日 · Yes, Conn did a low A baritone. No doubt about that. My question is; was it manufactoried in Elkhart or AZ/Mexico. According to Dr Paul Cohen, I think Paul Cohen is a good source, it was made in Elkhart. I bought and had some contact with Paul Cohen in the early mid 80's. He knows a lot about saxes. Pete Thomas owned a Conn low A bari.
Mouthpieces - Conn 10m tenor mouthpiece - CafeSaxophone Forum
2018年7月22日 · A Conn 10M much prefers open-chambered mouthpieces e.g. an Otto Link STM or Tone Edge. Fortunately, there are plenty of similar mouthpieces out there made by other manufacturers to choose from. So, sticking to open-chambered mouthpieces is only a small restriction on your options.
SOLD on Cafesaxophone Conn 10M 1965
2016年9月7日 · Unless you really need the money, I'd be in no great hurry to sell a Conn 10M. There's a finite supply - Conn stopped making them around 1968. Even the late-model ones like the 1965 version you've got play very nicely indeed. The only thing I'm not keen on re. late-model Conn 10Ms is the double-socket neck.
Saxophones Conn Transitional / 10m / v Selmer Mk 6
2021年5月23日 · Conn really stands-out & shines in 1/ lowest half octave and 2/ palm keys. Selmer has the nasal core, more modern & tricksy sounding, obvious choice for bigband: Conn is the big old balladeer. Been small vintage jazz group gigging on the Conn, mk6 is due back from repairman so might get some serious playing time again.
Saxophones - Conn 10M/King Super 20 | CafeSaxophone Forum
2010年12月11日 · Conn: I like the ”Naked Lady” models (c 35-42). I had a silverplated Conn 10M # 287XXX with underslung octave key. A strong player. Nice tone and good intonation. Rolled toneholes. The ergonomic was ok. The other Conn I’ve owned was a 326XXX c -47-48. A standard 10M. Straight toneholes. Both were good, but I prefered the Conn from the 30’s.
Saxophones - Transitional or 10M | CafeSaxophone Forum
2016年12月18日 · What actually happened was a transition (hence the name!) whereby elements of the Conn 10M design started to be added to the Conn New Wonder Series II. Please note that this was a gradual process. In other words, some Transitionals are 20% Conn 10M, increasing to the point where some are 50/50 or more.
