The PVC connects to the copper with a threaded male PVC connector (lower left side of photo). The PVC pipe goes underground where it reverses direction and goes to the right - where you see the PVC valve.

2012年2月2日 · First of all you can use a male pvc adapter to connect to a female copper. Shark bites won't work because they don't fit PVC only CPVC. Don't use a compression fitting on PVC and especially below ground. If you have a female copper fitting then get a Sch80 Male adapter. Then get a PVC repair coupling sch40.

2022年4月4日 · The pipe has broken somewhere and is squirting a little bit of water back into the cinder blocks each and every time the pump goes off (which is a lot this time of year). Since I can not access the pipe in the yard to fix it - I am going to slide a 10 foot 1" pvc down the 1.5" pvc and then connect it to the 1.5" pipe coming from the sump pump.

2023年8月23日 · A CPVC 3/4" size is ALMOST the same as 1/2" PVC. CPVC is slightly larger in diamete. So none of the PVC fittings available will connect with CPVC pipe. We are simply trying to connect the water heater's inlet and outlet metal stubs ( which are male 3/4" thread size) to the old 3/4" CPVC we had to cut out to remove old heater.

2010年2月13日 · For protection (both physical damage and any once in a blue moon freeze), you should have the PVC pipe burried 10" to 12" deep. While still at that depth, use a standard male threaded PVC adapter and a female threaded copper adapter. Continue the run of copper for 6" to 12", then use a copper elbow to turn and come up out of the ground.

2010年1月19日 · If the pipe is thin-wall poly (irrigation pipe) then your only option is the barbed fittings. If the pipe is thick wall municipal tubing, you have more options. You can use compression couplings (we typically use the brass "quick joint" compression by compression couplings for repairs, listed on pg. J4 in the link below.

2014年1月3日 · Lots of good responses here. Thanks to everyone. With the ABS pipe being 1 1/2" and the PVC pipe being 1 1/4", I don't think I can use the Fernco couplings (assuming the pipes have to be the same size) unless there is another way to do that. I did find that ABS to PVC cement at Home Depot (the 'other' big box store didn't have it!).
