2013年1月12日 · The previous sink drain had been poorly installed--the tail piece from the sink had been "caulked" into the cast iron T in the wall. When I removed the old tail piece, I realized the cast iron T either never had threads, or they had long ago rusted away. I am left with a cast iron drain nipple that has a rusty round hole in it.

Slip the pipe into place, unfold the rubber couplings onto the PVC pipe, move the shield/clamps into place, tighten to 60 in lbs. Support the PVC/ cast iron better with some straps.

2011年12月16日 · A new 4" cast iron pipe would be 4-3/8" OD An old 4" cast iron pipe can be as small as 4-1/8", which is considered a copper pipe size. If I have copper pipe size cast, then I use a mission copper coupling x no-hub. Which does work with PVC if it's standard waste sizing.
