Stock Google Earth Pro doesn't include contour lines. There are third party add-ons that can place a map over the GE Pro globe. You can find them with a Google search. Including KML as a search term helps.

Find the elevation of the landscape, like mountains and canyons. Contour lines overlaid on the map show elevation and gray numbers show altitude.

Contour lines and elevation markers disappear when zooming in on terrain layer. This seems like it should be something Google offers, otherwise, what’s even the point of the terrain layer?

How can I turn on this layer to see topo on Earth Pro (desktop, Mac)? Or if not available on Pro, on the iOS app as an overlay? And be able to move the map around with it on? I want it to be persistent as I have a hard time perceiving the 3D rendered elevations. The topography makes it much more intuitive to see valleys and ridges.
