Copper Cliff North Mine is an underground nickel mine in Copper Cliff, Ontario, Canada. It is owned and operated by Vale Canada Limited. The mine was the 2007 winner of the John T. Ryan Trophy for metal mines. Employing approximately 260 people, the mine went through 2006 without a lost-time-accident, producing of 4,200 tonnes of ore per day. [1]

The Copper Cliff North Mine is located in close proximity to Sudbury, Canada. The initial discovery of this mining site predates the 1960s. The geological formation of the area reveals an ore body that stretches approximately 30 meters (98 feet) beneath the Earth's surface.

Vale has completed its CAD $1 billion Clean AER (Atmospheric Emissions Reduction) Project. The Project, which began construction in 2012, has reduced SO2 emissions from Vale's Copper Cliff Smelter by 85% and metals particulate emissions by 40% from previous levels.

October 3, 2022 - Vale Canada Ltd officially opened the initial phase of its C$945 million Copper Cliff Complex South Mine Project. More than 12 km of tunnels were developed to reunite the south and north shafts of Copper Cliff Mine, creating a new Copper Cliff Mine Complex.
