CORSIA allows aircraft operators to reduce its offsetting requirements through the use of CORSIA eligible fuels, which include CORSIA sustainable aviation fuels and CORSIA lower carbon aviation fuels.

For a given year (starting in 2021), the States included in ICAO document entitled "CORSIA States for Chapter 3 State Pairs" define the State pairs subject to CO 2 offsetting requirements in CORSIA in that year. This ICAO document is updated annually.

2024年10月21日 · The Corsia scheme was adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 2016 as one mechanism to decarbonize the sector. The program covers CO2 released from international flights by aircraft that weigh more than 5,700 kilograms and emit more than 10,000 metric tons of CO2 each year.

Most recently, at its 41st Assembly, ICAO set 85% of 2019 emissions as CORSIA’s baseline from 2024 until the end of the scheme in 2035: a significantly more ambitious target than originally planned, which the industry supported.

The CORSIA Central Registry (CCR) is a database that is used by States to submit CORSIA-specific information and data to ICAO in accordance with the provisions of Annex 16, Volume IV and the timeline in its Appendix 1.
