2011年8月8日 · During the restyling works in the Genoa dry-dock, 2 new half-decks will be added along with 111 new cabins, and 120 cabins and suites with private balcony will be created. Total Guest capacity will increase from 1,697 to 1,800, while the number of cabins will increase from 678 to 789 and the total displacement to approximately 56,000 gross tonnage.

MS Costa neoRomantica was a cruise ship completed for Costa Cruises in 1993 by Fincantieri in Italy as Costa Romantica, and a sister ship to Costa Classica. She was refurbished in 2003, renamed Costa neoRomantica in 2011, and from 2017 assigned to the Asian market. The ship was sold in 2020 to Celestyal Cruises as Celestyal Experience.

2011年11月2日 · The work on the Costa Romantica – involving the works in dry dock, quay and fitting out in by the ship-owner – is due for completion in mid-February 2012. Thanks to the restyling, the Costa Romantica will be completely renovated, just like her name, which will become the “Costa neoRomantica”.

For the final part of its total restyling, Costa neoRomantica was moved from T.Mariotti shipyard to the dry dock (note the time-lapse draining of the dry dock).

After the refurbishing, the ship was renamed neoRomantica and started her first journey with the new name on March 2012. Works on Costa neoRomantica has been standard dry-dock operations: general repair, maintenance, refitting, and painting.

Costa neoRomantica cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 789 staterooms for 1578 passengers (max capacity is 1894) served by 650 crew-staff. The boat has 13 decks (10 passenger-accessible, 8 with cabins), 4 restaurants, 9 lounges and bars, 3 swimming pools (none with retractable glass roof/dome), 2 outdoor jacuzzies, 8 elevators.

Probably the most controversial drydocking in quite some time is the Costa neoRomantica. Here’s a pretty neat panorama from her Forecastle (bow) deck. Work is progressing along quite nicely in order to convert her into the most controversial ship since the Norwegian Epic.
