
Cox System Updates Affecting DVR Recording
2025年3月16日 · Apparently, Cox has been doing some kind of update and it is affecting DVR and Cloud recordings system wide. The effect is that my DVR will not schedule a future record of a program and the past scheduled recordings are not happening. When do you think this problem will be resolved? It's been going on for at least 2 days.

You should do that before swapping another DVR and losing recordings again since a new box might not solve your issue. If you don't have Cox Complete Care, you might consider subscribing ($10/month). If Cox doesn't find an issue with their signal or equipment, they'll charge you $75 for a tech visit that would be covered by CCC.

I just spent an hour on the phone with Cox, bouncing between 6 representatives, and the final one told me that Cox's Cloud DVR doesn't let you view recorded shows except on a Cox box. She said the "cloud" part only ensures that when you swap out a box, you don't lose your recordings, and you cannot watch them except through a Cox receiver.

If an issue is found on Cox's side of the demarc (box on the side of your house), you won't be charged for a service call. If the issue is on your side, you'll be charged a service fee for the visit unless you have Cox Complete Care ($10.month).

2024年11月17日 · Last, I saw this post on DSLReports that points to the new system Comcast is rolling out and they are licensing it to Cox. So still not sure how the new system will work, but FYI, changes are coming. Back up any important recordings onto a analog copy if possible. They will be deleted by next month.
