2024年1月13日 · I've had a carburetor issue on my Craftsman 24" which has caused some gas to bleed into the engine oil. The carb has since been replaced, and my next issue is to address the oil. Is it advisable to drain this oil cold before attempting to start, or is it ok to run the engine and warm it up a bit before draining?

2015年12月1日 · Yea, most likely cause is the needle and seat in the carb isn't turning off the fuel like it should. When that happens gas ends up 1 of 2 places. It either goes down the cylinder and ends up in the oil or it goes out the choke and ends up on the floor.

Most Craftsman snowblowers with 4-cycle engines use regular 87-grade unleaded gasoline that has a 10% or less ethanol content. Older snowblowers with a 2-cycle engine will use a gas and oil mix.

2020年12月19日 · Change the oil, use synthetic oil, run Seafoam or Berrymans Chemtool B12 if you feel you have a gummed carburetor, use Lucas or Gumout on a regular basis in your gasoline can with Stabil or Startron. Read for the correct dilution instructions. I will probably be using ethanol free fuel from now on if I can.

The other thing it could be is one of the two or both of the engine crankshaft seals has failed. There is one at the pull start end of the engine and one at the snow blower pulley end of the engine.

As you use your Craftsman snowblower, gas sloshes in the fuel tank. If the seal in the cap isn’t sealing well, the gas that splashes up to the cap can leak out of the cap area. You may not see a wet spot around the fuel cap if it’s been a while since you last ran your snowblower.

2024年1月2日 · The manual for my Craftsman 24" (536.881550) advises against anything but unleaded gasoline in the tank. I've seen many instances of the use of stabilizer and/or Sea Foam for a happy machine. Can anyone please weigh in on this for me?
