De Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter is een lichte jachtbommenwerper van Amerikaans ontwerp. Het toestel werd ontworpen en gebouwd door de firma Northrop Aircraft Inc., in Hawthorne, Californië. Later werd de firmanaam gewijzigd in Northrop Corp. Aircraft Group.
