It celebrates the 30 year history of LA's RTN (Rocking The Nation) Graffiti Crew through archived materials, footage, and original murals. Founded in 1988, with a unique style inherent to South Central, RTN originated as one of the only all black graffiti crews and its legacy lives on today.

Bringing the book to life, six of the Getty Black Book artists and their crews — Cre8, Axis, Eyeone, Fishe, Miner and Defer — transformed ESMoA's main installation space into an explosion of color with 80-foot-wide murals on faux interior walls.

Cre8. About the RTN Crew: Formed in 1989, Rocking the Nation (RTN) originated as one of LA’s only all-Black graffiti crews. From muraling on the Slauson yards to exhibitions curated by the Getty, RTN has had a unique and diverse art practice.

The Wall has lived through segregation, civil rights, the Black Power movement, a Crack epidemic, two civil unrests, the Gang Plague, and Hip-Hop. By the year 2000 it had become a dilapidated, uncared for, icon of the past– until a group of South Central Graffiti artists called RTN (Rocking The Nation) decided to do something about it.

All City is a visual exploration of Black graffiti writers in Los Angeles, as expressed in the work of three prominent artists from RTN — AiseBorn, Cre8 and EnkOne.
