The Smart Molecular Inorganic and Hybrid Materials Research Unit is formed by two groups who work especially with inorganic chemistry for biomedical applications, among others: the Inorganic Materials and Catalysis (LMI) group, and the Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites (NN) group.

Our mission is to design, modify and explore the limits of boron clusters based molecular and hybrid materials in the fields of optics, magnetism, (electro/photo)catalysis and biomedicine, thus bridging various research areas, including chemistry, physics, material science and biomedicine.

Our research group is seeking candidates for a PhD thesis focused on coordination polymers (CPs). The work will involve correlating structural features with physical properties, designing synthetic methods for preparing porous and functional materials, and tuning their structures for energy and environmental applications.

My scientific activities revolve around the rational design and synthesis of inorganic and hybrid nanoparticles and bio-based nanocomposites and the study of their structural-functional properties, including the better understanding of nano/bio/interactions.
