The EMD GP9 is a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division between 1954 and 1959. The GP9 succeeded the GP7 as the second model of EMD's General Purpose (GP) line, [1] incorporating a new sixteen- cylinder engine which generated 1,750 horsepower (1.30 MW). [2] .

CSX Transportation. Electro-Motive GP9 Diesels (0213), Class GP-9, was built in June 1957, #23372, FN 5542-5, as Chesapeake & Ohio 6213, Class MRSE-17. It became Class GP-9 in 1964 and was transferred as Baltimore & Ohio 6213, Class GP-9, on September 8, 1978. It was assigned as CSX 0213 but retired on August 20, 1987.
