2023年4月3日 · The gauss strength of the pole pieces are higher than I would have expected, around 600 gauss for the Strat pickups, which they claim is CuNiFe, that's very close to what I usually measure with AlNiCo 2 Strat pickups. The Tele model uses "FeCrCo" magnets, and those show a higher remnant flux, around 900 gauss, pretty close to AlNiCo 5.

2023年4月3日 · Thanks for sharing, interesting info there about the CuNiFe magnet and Seth Lover's work at Fender. I would listen Tim Shaw narrating a phone book, what a great voice and natural ease of presenting. I thought everything sounded pretty great and I think I might get a set for my pale blue strat.

2024年9月24日 · The potentially more difficult ones to pick are some of the latest Squier bar magnet ones that apparently mimic the look of the CuNiFe ones underneath. But their DCR is much lower - in the 8kOhms range, versus 10-11 kOhms for the CuNiFe. And of course unless someone is trying to trick you, they don't have "Fender" on the cover.

2023年4月3日 · I have gone through 2 sets of Cunife strat single coils with Sweetwater and 1 set with Fender. There is a serious quality control/manufacturing issue with the pickups. To their credit bith Sweetwater and Fender took pretty good care of me. Sweetwater gave me a refund and Fender sent me a new set.

2020年9月26日 · The new CuNiFe is not your “typical” humbucker size. 500k is fine with these, swap the pot for a 500k and add a resistor to the bridge pickup so it’s seeing 250k. Fender has stacked 500/250 pots but I don’t know if they’re readily available.

2010年5月23日 · alnico 2 is supposed to be very close to cunife but all alnico is also supposedly very hard to machine makes you wonder why they don't just make a set place (pressed in) alnico 2 version. being that i don't think many people tinker and adjust the pole height from the factory.
