2019年7月21日 · I had been reading a lot about the Altec Model 19, and had heard only good things. So using the dimensioned drawings I found of the Model 19 cabinet my plan changed course. Using the modern GPA 416-8B in a 8.8 cuft bass reflex cabinet gets me a respectable 25 Hz bottom end (according to GPA).

These are amazing sounding preamps. Great for fattening dynamic sources such as vocals, guitars, or snares. Low end sources such as kick drum or bass gives a very very vintage vibe. Completely hand wired with hand etched circuit boards, vintage Sprague PS caps, custom Bauer Transformers, Clarostat pots, etc.

2006年4月12日 · Subject at hand is a freshly acquired Altec 9200A console, circa 1968, highly modified and expanded by one John Frey in DC about 1975. It started life as a 12 x 4 tracking console, containing Altec 9470A amps for input and buss driver amps, 8 channels with 9061A EQ's, all 12 channels having 600/600 ladder echo sends and 600/600 ladder faders.

2020年6月10日 · Do ALL 19’s have vented dust caps? The horns and drivers are Altec. The diaphragms in the 802 8G are the better ones. I would have to look it up to see exactly the number. The guys at GPA are old Altec gus who started their own company after Altec ceased. The crossovers are also from GPA, specifically for these components.

3D printed these famous altec multicell horns. I am delighted by their aesthetics, and their sound. My initial thoughts are these are very directional. I probably would not use these indoor at all.
