The Cyrix 6x86 is a line of sixth-generation, 32-bit x86 microprocessors designed and released by Cyrix in 1995. Cyrix, being a fabless company, had the chips manufactured by IBM and SGS-Thomson. [1] [2] The 6x86 was made as a direct competitor to Intel's Pentium microprocessor line, and was pin compatible.

Cyrix Corporation was a microprocessor developer that was founded in 1988 in Richardson, Texas, as a specialist supplier of floating point units for 286 and 386 microprocessors. The company was founded by Tom Brightman and Jerry Rogers. In 1992, Cyrix introduced its own i386 compatible processors, the 486SLC and 486DLC. [2]

This Cyrix MII 333GP came in three versions: one with 66, 75 and 83MHz FSB. This version uses the 83MHz FSB and thus is clocked at 250MHz. The versions with 66 and 75MHz FSB run at 266MHz.

2000年11月15日 · I have a question regarding a Cyrix 333. The recommended speed settings are 75 x 3.5. My Motherboard can only go to a 3x multiplier and can go to 83mhz. Can I run it at 83 x 3 or should I run it...

2002年3月30日 · Your Cyrix 333 is probably running at 250MHz ...either 3*83 or 2.5*100.....The multiplier shouldn't be locked......The best I could stably do for my old pr 333 (250=3*83) was 4*66 or 266MHz but because the bus speed was that much lower the whole outcome was slower.
