Dwijendralal Ray (19 July 1863 – 17 May 1913), also known as D. L. Ray, was a Bengali poet, playwright, and musician. He served the government until 28 th April 1909 . During his service he made notable contributions to the Land & Revenue system of Bengal. D.L Roy is remembered for his historic 7 patriotic plays like, Shahjahan (1909), Mebarpatan (1908), Chandragupta (1911), and social sataires like Biraha (1897), Hasir Gaan (1900).
