On 28 May 2024, UpLift successfully completed its first test flight using 100 percent synthetic fuel at the DLR site in Oberpfaffenhofen.

2024年5月6日 · The D328® UpLift flying testbed, a collaboration between Deutsche Aircraft and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), will showcase cross-industry German aerospace capabilities, setting the stage for groundbreaking advancements in the German aviation industry.

The D328® UpLift is used as a 'flying testbed' for new fuels and innovative aviation technologies of the future, such as synthetic fuels or hydrogen. The current flights are being carried out as test flights, as the use of 100 percent synthetic aromatics-free fuels is not yet fully certified.

The new DLR research aircraft D328 UpLift, a Dornier 328-100 Model 20 with the registration D-CUPL, got its new look at Deutsche Aircraft before it went on its delivery flight. The flying testbed for research into hydrogen technologies in aviation is part of the UpLift project and will become part of Europe's largest research fleet.
