The DR 130 family of locomotives comprises the DR Class 130 (DBAG Class 230), DR Class 131 (DBAG Class 231), DR Class 132 (DBAG Class 232 as well as Classes 233, 234 and 241 produced through modifications) and DR Class 142 (DBAG Class 242), in USSR locomotive called TE109 (DBAG 230/1/2) and TE129 (DBAG 242).

The best-known Diesel locomotives operated by DB Cargo Romania is the BR 232 Ludmilla. It is an emblematic locomotive liked by the majority of railway photographers in Romania, appreciated by the train drivers thanks to its high-power output and relatively high reliability.

Die Lokomotiven der Baureihe 130 (DB AG: 230), BR 131 (231), BR 132 (232, 233, 234 und 241) und BR 142 (242) wurden ab 1970 aus der damaligen Sowjetunion in die DDR importiert und bei der Deutschen Reichsbahn in Dienst gestellt. Die Baumuster wurden noch als V 300 auf der Leipziger Messe vorgestellt.

The DB BR 232 is a German diesel locomotive, featured as an upcoming loco DLC for the Ruhr Sieg Nord route. Originally produced for the East German national railway, the DR, for both passenger and freight services.

After unification of Germany, Deutsche Bahn (DB) initially took over ex-DR locomotives, their service numbers being changed by replacing the first digit ‘1’ with ‘2’. ‘New’ classes 230, 231 and 242 were soon withdrawn; of the most numerous class 232, over 400 were initially kept in service, but most were soon withdrawn to reserve.

BR232 is a well-known and reliable diesel-electric locomotive, that was produced in USSR (Ukraine) in late 1970’s and so far used by Deutsche Bahn and many private operators for transportation of fright in Germany, Poland, Hungary and Romania.

DB BR232 Pack. The package contains three different versions of the diesel locomotive BR232 Orient Red, Traffic Red and Traffic Red Railion. The following functions are integrated into the models:

Bis Mitte 1973 sollte es dauern, ehe die DR endlich zu ihrer gewünschten Diesellokomotive mit leistungsstarker elektrischer Heizung kommen sollte. Diese Maschinen reihte die DR als Baureihe 132 101 - 709 ein; ab 1992 wurden sie in Reihe 232 umgenummert. Die Maschinen haben einen relativ hohen Lärmpegel, bewähren sich aber gut.

Die Lokomotiven der DR-Baureihe 132 wurden bei der Deutschen Bahn als Baureihe 232 bezeichnet, die Loks der DR-Baureihe 142 als DB-Baureihe 242. Unser Lokfotoarchiv enthält zahlreiche Aufnahmen dieser DB-Baureihen der vergangenen 30 Jahre.

A partir de 1990, avec la modernisation d’un grand nombre de lignes, en attendant leur électrification, certaines 232 (ex 132) reçoivent des bogies à rapport 140 km/h récupérés sur des BR 130 / 230, pour tracer des trains Inter City et Inter Regio et sont renumérotées 234. Le moteur diesel reste celui d'origine.
