Die Schnellfahrlok der Baureihe 101 war in den 1990er Jahren Bestandteil der Neubeschaffungen der Deutschen Bundesbahn und der neu gegründeten DB AG. Sie löste damals die Baureihe 103 vor den klassischen, lokbespannten IC-Zügen ab. Nach über 25 Jahren intensiver Einsätze wird die 101 nun nach und nach von neuen ICE abgelöst.

Die Lokomotiven der DB-Baureihe 101 bilden seit dem Jahr 2000 das Rückgrat bei der Bespannung der IC-Züge der Deutsche Bahn AG. Wir zeigen hier eine kleine Auswahl. Besonders hinweisen möchten wir auf zahlreiche Fotos der Werbelokomotiven und von Einsätzen in Österreich und im Raum Basel (Schweiz).
