This vintage, all-analog Boom Box generates a "sub harmonic" tone to fill out the 50-100Hz bass range that is often lacking on analog media such as vinyl or tape. The unit listens to the bass frequencies that are already present in the 100-200Hz range, synthesizes a tone that is one octave down, and blends that into the original signal.

The DBX 100 recreates this lost portion of the audio spectrum by seizing information in the 50-100 Hz range, creating a signal one octave lower (25-50 Hz) and mixing this new signal back into the program.

Definate lminted range of synthesis: source frequancy 110 Hz on top end, bottom end 30-40 hz depending on synthsizer's mood. Too thick, maybe best to lower preamp bass level with all the extras added in; otherwise, knocks yout head around too much. Same relative synth levels regardless of input levels over about a 30 dB attenuation range.
