USS King (DL-10/DLG-10/DDG-41) was a Farragut-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy. She was named for Fleet Admiral Ernest Joseph King (1878–1956), King was laid down by the Puget Sound Navy Yard at Bremerton in Washington on 1 March 1957, launched on 6 December 1958 and commissioned on 17 November 1960.

USS King (DLG-10/DDG-41) Association. The USS King Association was formed in 2001 as a non-profit group dedicated to reconnecting shipmates, sharing memories, and coordinating reunions. First reunion held in San Diego in 2002. Reunions are hosted throughout the country annually. The 2023 reunion will be held in Colorado Springs, CO.

HMAS Brisbane (DDG 41), named after the city of Brisbane, Queensland, is the second ship of the Hobart -class air warfare destroyers used by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The ship was built at ASC 's shipyard in Osborne, South Australia from modules fabricated by ASC, BAE Systems Australia in Victoria, and Forgacs Group in New South Wales.

For armament, the KING is equipped with a Terrier missile Launcher which fires the Terrier, a surface-to-air, solid propellant, beam riding missile. Missiles aboard ship are selected automatically from the storage magazine below deck and loaded onto the launcher, which is then automatically aimed at the target and fired.

The 1986 Mediterranean Cruise for the USS King (DDG-41) began on 10 March 1986 and concluded on 10 September 1986. The USS King was awarded an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and a Navy Unit Commendation during this deployment.
