On January 20, 2025, I signed a memorandum entitled Exercising Appropriate Discretion Under Parole Authority. That memorandum clarifies DHS's position regarding the scope ofthe parole statute, 8 U.S.C. § 1182(d)(5), and directs a variety ofactions to implement the memorandum.
