As a New Orleans native, young DJ Mello was inspired by the new sounds of the late 80s & early 90s. He credits DJ Jazzy Jeff as the reason he began DJing.

Since 2000, when DJ MELLO first burst onto the San Francisco music scene, they’ve released some widely anticipated mixes and developed a sound that draws from a plethora of genres, pushing their musical boundaries to new limits.

DJ MELLO Hip hop has been a major part of Jamal (DJ Mello) Lambert's life since his early years. Born in the streets of Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Long Island, N.Y. where he started to DJ at the age of 12, Mello was destined to become a major player in the music business early on.
