Ritu is the founder and artistic director/DJ of the world’s two longest-running South Asian music club nights – Kuch Kuch Bollywood Nights (23 years) and Club Kali (28 years) – and the UK’s first ever queer SWANA music club, Hoppa (est 2000).

DJ Ritu is a pioneering EDI activist, international turntablist, Rough Guides contributor and BBC Radio presenter. In the 1980s, she established Shakti Disco at the London Lesbian and Gay Centre, before co-founding both the legendary Club Kali, in 1995, and the queer SWANA (South-West Asian and North African) music club Hoppa.

With over 40 years as a world-renowned BBC broadcaster and DJ, DJ Ritu knows how to ignite any event with her unparalleled talent.
